 The natural beauty of Minneapolis and the architectural charm of its buildings affords the wedding party a number of venues for ceremony and reception. The Twin Cities region is full of churches, manors, hotels, historical buildings, parks and restaurants capable of accommodating wedding events. Many of the venues in and around Minneapolis boast a midwestern charm with touches of modern design. There are a number of buildings dating from the 1800's that have been renovated for the purpose of supporting large events and congregations of people.
The green spaces and parks are unrivaled in their lush, natural beauty, though planners must ensure scheduling outdoor events when the temperature will be tolerable to guests. Minneapolis and St. Paul can be brutal through the Winter months. The outdoor areas of the Twin Cities are very well-maintained and extremely popular for weddings and receptions. Non-traditional wedding venues can also be found in and around Minneapolis. One of the more unique wedding experiences can be had by chartering a vessel on Lake Minnetonka or the Mississippi River. Cruising yachts come equipped with amenities for a pre-determined number of guests. Ceremonies and receptions can be held on the boat, or ceremony elsewhere with a reception cruise. The charters providing such services often have complete jurisdiction over the companies used for catering services, so planners must pay close attention to contracted rates with additional fees.
