The Tech Interactive is conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Jose, facing Plaza de Cesar Chavez and within walking distance of the San Jose McEnery Convention Center as well as the Fairmont, Marriott and Hilton hotels. The Interactive’s iconic bright mango building houses more than 100 high-tech exhibits and experiences that are available for your guests’ enjoyment!
Events are held in The Interactive lobby, exhibit galleries, IMAX Dome Theater and rooftop terrace, which features stunning views of downtown landmarks. You can reserve a combination of spaces or all of The Interactive. The Interactive is a fantastic place for a large party: Three-levels can accommodate up to 2,500 guests on a large, adaptable floor plan, which includes a 45-foot cylindrical tower that anchors an art installation celebrating Silicon Valley.
The galleries lend themselves to intimate seated dinners or large corporate receptions. Each gallery has a different theme: In Social Robots, visitors build and program their own robot. In BioDesign Studio — the world’s first interactive exhibit on bioengineering — guests create colorful mixes of DNA and grow their own biomaterial. Body Worlds Decoded incorporates augmented reality with real human bodies — it’s an exhibit you won’t find anywhere else and an experience that will leave you amazed. And that’s just three examples among the many spaces, exhibits and activities to explore.
In addition to these extraordinary galleries, The Interactive has one more cutting-edge gem that will delight you and your guests: California’s only IMAX Dome Theater. Renovated in 2018, it’s also home to the world’s first laser projector for an IMAX dome. It features a four-story hemispherical screen that puts the audience in the center of the action. Outfitted with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, the theater is an incredible canvas for any event and can be reserved exclusively for a performance, presentation or private film viewing.
