Built in 1936, the Montgomery Theater retains its historic charm and offers audiences an intimate experience for every performance. It hosts a variety of performing arts, corporate and private events. This venue combines an elegant appearance with contemporary upgrades, including many completed in December of 2018. Renovations were made to the dressing rooms, seating, hardwood floors, carpeting and restrooms. The interior of the theater was repainted, and the historic seals on the auditorium walls were carefully restored. Outside the theater, there is a state-of-the-art digital marquee and a fantastic new courtyard which includes a built-in firepit. The courtyard can be used in isolation or in combination with the connected San Jose Civic courtyard for hosting outdoor meetings, live entertainment and pre-show receptions.
