Bread & Salt is a 45,000 square-foot gallery and experimental center for the arts with strong ties to our community. The Bread & Salt Brick Room and adjacent courtyard is a multipurpose event space perfect for any gathering, including a wedding, cocktail reception, memorial, a lecture or presentation, or community event. When you rent a space at Bread & Salt, you are contributing directly to our exhibitions, artist support, public programs, and the ongoing care of our space that serves the greater San Diego and Tijuana regional artistic community. Housed within Bread & Salt’s 45,000 sq. ft. gallery and cultural hub, the Brick Room offers a unique blend of historic charm and creative energy. With exposed brick, high ceilings, and natural light, it’s the perfect backdrop for weddings, pop-ups, performances, and unforgettable gatherings. The Brick Room can accommodate anything from seated dinners to film screenings, and is connected to the outdoor courtyard space via a large roll-up door which can be used as an extension of the event space.
Located at the heart of Bread & Salt, the Courtyard is an open-air space that brings warmth and character to any gathering. Spanning approximately 2,000 square feet, it features century-old wooden and metal beams that lend a rustic, antique charm. Surrounded by the energy of the gallery and studio spaces, the Courtyard adds a unique and creative touch to your event. Rental of the Brick Room Event Space and adjacent Courtyard includes access to the Welcome Lobby, providing a welcoming arrival space for your guests. Opening directly onto Julian Avenue, the lobby offers convenient and accessible entry to your event.
