Grey Rock Mansion by Wedgewood Weddings
400 Grey Rock Road, Pikesville, MD
150 Capacity
$8,740 to $42,690 / Wedding
Grey Rock Mansion is a historic estate at in Pikesville, Maryland, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Dr. James Maynard, a Baltimore County physician, built the Italian villa-style house in 1857 and named it for the gray stone of its walls. Over the years it hosted garden tours, charity events, and Baltimore society gatherings, and it spent decades as a catering and event venue. Hosting is not new to this house. Today the property offers a clear sequence of spaces. Outdoors, the Ceremony Lawn is anchored by a white pergola at the end of a stone-paved aisle edged in brick, with mature trees and white flower beds around it. The Indoor Ceremony room is the alternative, with wood floors, tall windows and French doors, two brass chandeliers, and a marble fireplace framed by columns and a pediment. For cocktail hour, the Terrace Room has dark hardwood floors, arched windows and French doors, brass chandeliers, and a built-in bar with a mirror. A terrace patio is just outside. Receptions are held in the garden-side Pavilion, with string lights, chandeliers, and views of the lawn and gardens. The Buffet Room serves as a smaller indoor reception space. The Magnolia Suite and the Hawthorn Suite provide two separate get-ready spaces. The mansion sits close to the Baltimore Beltway (I-695). Downtown Baltimore is roughly 11 miles and about 20 minutes away by car, and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport is about a 30-minute drive, depending on traffic.
