The Powerhouse Community Arts Center, a vintage 1928 brick and stone warehouse that once housed the Oxford Electric Company, hosts rotating art exhibits, concerts, literary events, and is home to Theatre Oxford and Hinge Dance Company. The halls two large rooms offer flexibility for receptions, meetings and special events.
Both the Gallery and the Theatre are 40 feet by 60 feet and both have a ceiling height of 24 feet. We are able to hang decorations from the ceiling, such as chandeliers, paper lanterns, or flower arrangements. (Decorations are not provided.) The Theatre has a 24 by 20 stage that can be used for musicians or ceremonies. It also features dedicated power for musicians.
Each room can hold around 200 people seated and 400 standing. So for seated dinners and receptions we can host about 400 and for standing receptions we can host about 800 people.
We can host both weddings and wedding receptions (as well as showers, engagement parties and more!), and we can flip rooms after your ceremony so that you can have both rooms available for the reception.
