Wedding reception — An Eventective User

Pettibone was a great venue for a reception. I have had many compliments on the food and the service. Everything was superb!

Pettibone Resort and Banquet Hall was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue. Our ceremony was held on their deck, overlooking the Mississippi River. There was a very large grassy area next to the deck where we took all of our wedding party pictures, with trees and the river in the background. There is also a pretty waterfall near the deck which looks great in our photos. The atmosphere inside the banquet hall is wonderful, with the big stone fireplace and plenty of room for our guests. The tables looked great, and it was easy to just add our centerpieces and decorations to the tablecloths they had already set up. We opted to have the food served buffet style, which allowed our guests to get exactly the food and portions they wanted fairly quickly. It was delicious! The options for food and drinks were plentiful. During dinner, they cleared the deck and lit a campfire so guests could mingle outside. I rated responsiveness slightly lower, but that is a reflection of the planning and NOT the staff on the night of our wedding. The staff at the wedding were very attentive and flexible. Planning was more difficult because, like all venues during the summer, they were very busy. In the end, everything went off without a problem. Our guests raved about how much fun they had, and we had fun too! And the best part is, we didn't have to spend all of our savings to do it. Pettibone was a great place for us because of the low price and great atmosphere.
