Where timeless beauty meets a space built for celebration. Nestled in the heart of downtown Kansas City alongside the historic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the Bishop Hogan Center offers something few Kansas City venues can: the soaring beauty of one of the city's most beloved sacred spaces, paired with a versatile, modern event space.
Fr. Donnelly Hall is where your event finds life — a generously sized room crowned with three starburst chandeliers hung within two warm wood-framed ceiling alcoves. Programmable accent lighting wraps the room in the color of your choosing — soft lavender, deep garnet, blush, sapphire, or any shade in between. Large windows offer sweeping views of the downtown skyline, and the connected Gathering Space, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows, welcomes guests for cocktail hours and pre-function receptions. Fr. Donnelly Hall comfortably hosts up to 320 guests for weddings, galas, conferences, corporate meetings, trainings, receptions, and celebrations of every kind.
Behind the scenes, a full catering kitchen, in-house A/V, and an on-site coordinator keep everything running, so your focus can stay where it belongs — on your guests and the moment. Complimentary onsite and overflow parking greet your guests from the moment they arrive.
For couples on the threshold of marriage, we offer a truly singular experience: join your hands in mutual consent beneath the star-lit ceiling of our stunning Cathedral, crowned by the beloved Gold Dome, then make your first steps as a wedded couple along the covered glass walkway into Fr. Donnelly Hall — a crossing that can be styled with florals, greenery, lighting, and details to become a moment all its own.
Every event at the Bishop Hogan Center supports Morning Glory Ministries, the Cathedral's outreach to Kansas City's unhoused neighbors, and helps sustain the daily life and mission of the Cathedral parish itself. When you celebrate with us, your celebration becomes part of the grace and support Morning Glory weaves through the lives of more than a thousand Kansas Citians each week — and part of the enduring work of a parish that has served Kansas City since 1835.
We'd be honored to host your event — reach out any time with questions, to check date availability, or to schedule a personal walkthrough.
