Music151 is conveniently located just 5 minutes from the Cedar Rapids Westdale area! Room 1 is Music151’s tech-forward, multi-use event space. This adaptable and modern venue features 1040 sq ft of entirely accessible and mobility-friendly neutral space - with a no-step-entry from a concrete parking lot - suitable for any small event, party, meeting, seminar, concert, activity, or practice space. Room 1 has a capacity of more than 50 guests and boasts a variety of technological amenities, available upon request, for your convenience. Room 1 has tables and chairs available at no additional cost and a private gender-inclusive family-friendly restroom with baby-changing capability. You can bring your own catering. Plus, being right off the highway this venue is easily accessible from any direction, and modern lodging and dining options are a mere five-minute drive away! There is a full-size refrigerator/freezer in the venue that is available for your use. A microwave oven is available upon request. You are welcome to bring crock-pots. Costs The basic room rate is $40/hour, and that includes tables and chairs. You can get a discount if you do not need the tables and chairs. Optional Amenities Room 1 is equipped with a variety of technological amenities, including an audio/video/TV/computer system with a built-in 135 in screen and top-of-the-line smart projector, high-quality built-in speakers, portable microphones, and a moveable video camera. You can play your favorite music, videos, slideshows, YouTubes, Spotify, subscription sporting events, or broadcast television during your event - you can even do some karaoke! Also available are an overhead door that can be opened during pleasant weather to increase lighting and ambiance, a plug-in for a food truck, an alcohol permit, musical instrument rentals, and neutral divider/backdrop curtains. All of these features make Room 1 the ideal venue for a variety of events, including: Meetings With a broad range of technological amenities, Room 1 is an ideal venue to host business meetings, religious services, or classes. A particularly useful function of the technology is the ability to seamlessly connect through Zoom or other video conferencing platforms. This built-in capability makes hosting hybrid events a breeze. Parties Even if your event doesn’t require business technology, Room 1’s neutral modern backdrop will still make for a perfect canvas to decorate to your specifications. Room 1 is a fantastic venue to host parties of all types- graduations, birthdays, baby showers, retirement parties- even small weddings. Your stage can be positioned as you like - as a concert hall, cathedral, or in-the-round - and the room will give you an intimate setting for your performer(s). Vendor Fairs and Exhibitions Run your next vendor fair or expo in Room 1! The room configuration can give you space for 6-10 vendors plus a snack area. With plenty of electricity plug-ins and free WiFi, we can minimize the complexity of an event space in hosting a vendor fair. Other events If you can dream it, we can host it. Room 1 can be booked for short hourly time-slots or for all-day events.
