a tavola Restaurant would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves to you. We have been serving
authentic Italian cuisine in The Ukrainian Village of Chicago since 1995.
Part of a tavola’s charm is our understated elegance. We are housed in a 100 year old, ivy covered brick building that boasts no neon sign or flashing lights. Instead, look outside for old-fashioned lamps and walk through our vintage front door to your new home-away-from-home. Once inside the candlelight, white table cloths ,fine china and soft music will take you back to a time when dining out wasn’t about gimmicks but simply an intimate space to eat great food with even better company.
a tavola is passionate about authenticity and our specialty is recreating classic Italian dishes and pairing
those dishes with the perfect Italian wine. Everything is homemade on site daily including our focaccia,
pasta, entrees and desserts. In fact, our gnocchi has been voted the best in the city! But our passion
doesn’t stop at our food. What sets a tavola apart is our enthusiasm. We are a small dedicated staff
that loves what we do and takes pride in giving you exceptional service. For these reasons we have
become a favorite destination for celebrating life’s special occasions and hosting private events. We are also community educators; our Chef/Owner gives monthly cooking classes to all types of groups: family parties, corporations, newlyweds, local schools or private classes.
