Rooms may be reserved in academic buildings, based on availability. Academic rooms are not readily available during the academic year (August - May).
Academic space includes tiered lecture halls that seat up to 230 and classrooms of various size. Each classroom is equipped with a Smart Podium which includes a variety of presentation technologies.
Conference participants are required to put academic classrooms back to the original setup before the group leaves or additional charges may apply. When reserving space in academic buildings outside of normal operating hours additional charges may apply.

The Belk Gymnasium houses classrooms, an indoor swimming pool and three recreational courts that can be used for basketball, volleyball, badminton, racquetball, squash and walleyball. When reserving space in the Belk Gymnasium outside of normal operating hours, there will be a charge assessed for a building manager and/or event manager and porter(s) to be on site. This includes early openings and late closings. Regular operating hours during the academic year are:

Friday (7:00 AM - 8:00 PM)
Saturday (2:00 PM - 8:00 PM)

The Bonnie E. Cone University Center serves as one of the primary meeting facilities on campus, offering 30,000 square feet of conference space.
It is home to the McKnight Auditorium - a 90-seat lecture hall. It also houses the John Paul Lucas Room - a multi-purpose room that features a herringbone-patterned wood floor that lends itself to fit a variety of set-up and event needs.
The Cone Center also offers a variety of additional multipurpose rooms that can be used for break-out sessions or meeting space, with maximum capacities ranging from 12 to 180 people.
During the academic year, the first floor has an open dining area that features to-go salads and snacks, Subway, and Panda Express.
Groups that book space in the Cone Center are able to use the University's campus catering partner - Chartwells - at their event.
When reserving space in the Cone University Center outside of normal operating hours, there will be a charge assessed for a building manager to be on site. This includes early openings and late closings. Regular operating hours during the academic year are:

Opening its doors in late 2006 and named by the Harris Family, the Harris Alumni Center at Johnson Glen houses the Office of Alumni Affairs. It is specifically designed for alumni to cultivate new friendships and maintain those established when attending the University.
Who can rent the Harris Alumni Center?
UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, students, and the Charlotte community are encouraged to use the Harris Alumni Center.
What types of events are typically held at the Harris Alumni Center?
The Center can accommodate groups of two to 150 in a variety of settings. Common setup options include 96 people at round tables and 150 people reception style (standing and sitting). The building hosts events such as meetings, receptions, banquets, retreats, and corporate events.

The James H. Barnhardt Student Activity Center (SAC) is another large space frequently used for conference events. It features the Halton Arena with a seating capacity of 9,000 and five hospitality salons that can be used individually for small meetings and meal functions or combined for larger events accommodating up to 600 audience style. In addition, the facility includes 4 recreational courts, an aerobics studio and concession stands for events. When reserving space in the Student Activity Center outside of normal operating hours, there will be a charge assessed for a building manager and/or event manager to be on site. This includes early openings and late closings. Regular operating hours during the summer are:

There are several recreational playing fields and athletic complexes throughout campus. These multipurpose fields and facilities are able to accommodate a variety of sports and events. A field manager and/or event manager may be necessary for certain events. A charge will be assessed for a field manager and/or event manager to be on site.

The Student Union opened in August of 2009 and provides the campus with a wealth of new meeting space. As a student-fee-funded building, one of the Union's primary functions is to provide space for students to meet and conduct student activities.
Along with several conference-style meeting rooms on the second floor, the Union has a large multipurpose space on the third floor that can host large meetings of up to 1,000 participants and can be divided with airwalls for smaller meeting spaces.
Though the Union is primarily reserved for student groups and departments, conference groups can request permission to rent space in the building from the Student Union Advisory Board.
