I highly recommend the Grand Prospect Hall for your wedding reception. My wife and I had our marriage their in August of 2009 The venue is located in Brooklyn. While in an urban area the venue has enough space for your ceremony. The venue has a very large central meeting hall. My wife and I were able to accommodate everyone (around 240 people) in this hall. The venue also has an outside congregation area. The outside area, from what remember has several gazebos and a large covered picnic area. The Grand Prospect Hall has full service kitchens and the food is excellent. We offered our guest filet minion and a Chicken dish. The food was prepared exceptionally well. The venue is relatively cheap for the New York City area. Their are plenty of hotels and an airport close by so that , if need be, you can fly in your friends and relatives. The Grand Prospect Hall also has valet parking, which can be very helpful. The staff at the venue are very polite and genuinely concerned that your big day goes according to plan. The owner of the venue was actually there and person and oversaw the kitchen and made sure our guests were comfortable. There is also a very large sound stage from which our guests made their toasts and from which the band performed. I would recommend this venue for your wedding reception.

We had a spectacular experience with the Grand Prospect, and our sales contact, Denise Sullivan. We had a movie-themed wedding, and we had a lot of details that we needed Denise's guidance on. Throughout, the level of customer service we received was outstanding. She was always prompt and professional in her responses. In addition, the grand ballroom is simply gorgeous, and the food selection was fantastic. We were able to create exactly the type of wedding which we aimed for: one that was an expression of our love for one another and for doing something outside the norm. Denise was instrumental in fueling our creative fire, and helped to make our wedding unforgettable for us and our guests. On the night of the wedding, Tom, also made our night flow smoothly which was no small feat considering we had a wedding party of 14. The staff also coordinated well with our DJ, photographer, and videographer. We chose Grand Prospect Hall as our wedding venue because we were looking for a place that could hold 300 guests, as close as possible to Manhattan, accessible by subway. (We would have loved to get married in Manhattan but everything there was WAY out of our price range.) We were a bit nervous about the choice because the place is's extremely ornate...we got a kick out of the place, the whole look of it just put a smile on our faces, but we were a little nervous that our guests wouldn't really "get it". Turns out they totally "got it", the guests seemed to get a kick out of it just like we did, we got lots of positive feedback from our guests, and- this is the best part- the hall looks AMAZING in our pictures. Truly amazing. There are balconies in the ballroom, which allowed our photographers to take incredible aerial shots of the dancing.

Grand Prospect Hall is an absolutely stunning venue!!! I decided to post a review of it because I know how frustrating it is to look for a wedding place. I heard about the hall from a friend of mine who recommended it after hosting an event there. The hall has such great history and you can feel it when you walk in. I always dreamt of a fairytale wedding and this was the perfect setting for it. When it came to my reception no detail was left unnoticed. The staff were a pleasure to deal with.
