About Melvin's DJ Service

If you are looking for a DJ with a passion for music, and a fun and professional stage presence, then I'm your guy! I have written, played and performed music since 1996 and I earned my degree in radio broadcasting in 2005 and have experience in both radio and TV. I've been DJing weddings since 2013. I am excellent at "reading a room" and can keep the party flowing however you may prefer. I consider myself a true 'crowd control specialist' and have received nothing but 5 star ratings on Thumbtack, Yelp, Facebook, and Google, since I began. REVIEWS: FACEBOOK: YELP PAGE AND REVIEWS: THUMBTACK: KGW INTERVIEW: I am loving what I do and take pride in helping to make your joyful day as amazing as possible. I offer a uniquely personal experience, as we work together to create the perfect soundtrack to your event. We've also never cancelled on anybody, ever! There are a lot of fly-by-night, pop-up DJs in this industry. And those DJs ruin a lot of weddings. That's not us. This is our passion! My current rates are a $200 base fee plus $100 per event hour, for a basic (non-holiday) sound package (2-4 loud speakers, lapel and wireless mics, and DJ equipment such as mixers, and computer). This package sufficiently covers more than 90% of weddings that I do. Most events cost $600, for a four hour event. If you are in need of more time, then it's $100 per hour for each additional hour. We also have lighting available upon request, for an extra charge. Set up and tear down time are not considered part of your event hours, nor are the hours spent planning and communicating with you or your coordinator as we prepare. I'll often attend the rehearsal as well, if my schedule allows. Discounts are offered for charity events and other non profits such as schools. I am licensed and able to pass a background check as needed for school venues. Please feel free to call with your event details and see what I can offer you! Consultation is absolutely free, so just ask. I look forward to hearing from you!
