Open Door Tea

3552 Main St, Stratford, CT
60 Capacity
Open Door Tea is a charming tearoom and café located at 3552 Main Street in Stratford, Connecticut. With cozy tables, warm lighting, and rotating local art on the walls, the space offers an inviting, "at home" atmosphere for private dining and celebrations. The venue features two bookable event spaces. The Oasis Room includes a bar for serving food and drinks, a TV and microphone setup, and catered food packages tailored to your group — seating up to 30 guests. The Art Room, our original tearoom with monthly rotating artwork from local artists, is available for evening bookings after 6 PM and also accommodates up to 30 guests. For larger gatherings, both rooms can be combined for a total capacity of 60. We host bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, team building events, cocktail parties, board meetings, graduation parties, engagement parties, and reunions. Catering options include scones, finger sandwiches, chicken salad croissants, quiches, macaroons, petit fours, and more — with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free accommodations always available. Beer, wine, and cocktails can be added to any event package. We also offer a signature High Tea experience for groups of 2–18, featuring a curated selection of fine loose leaf teas, traditional tiered displays of sandwiches, warm scones, and fresh-baked pastries. Our tea educators guide each table through the tea selection to complement the food. Open Door Tea carries over 150 varieties of loose leaf tea, artisan tea-infused chocolate bars, locally sourced honey, and house-baked goods. Private events are typically booked for 3 hours, with pricing based on group size, date, and menu selections.
