Our evening begins right at 5pm with a one-hour guided tour and tasting of the Inns Organic farm led by farmer Kevin Petrie. If you would like to purchase a cocktail for the tour, you can certainly arrive earlier as our beverage station will be up and running by 4:30pm. Beginning at the FirePit with a sneak peak at the days bounty and the nights Feast the culinary expedition winds through the herb gardens, greenhouses and vegetable beds that make the Inn so unique ending with a tasting of the days featured ingredient at the Farm Stand. The tour goes on rain or shine – pack your umbrella and comfortable shoes. It is also a good idea to bring along some bug spray! Our Oyster hour begins at 6pm for a journey of discovery as you explore our kitchens, whimsical grounds, herb gardens and organic farm discovering any array of flavours from our many outdoor fire-pits, Oyster bar, beverage stations, smokehouse and FireWorks. Every evening we also shuck through a pile of Fortune Bay oysters in our famous historic kitchen, the original location of Chef Michael Smith’s debut cooking show, The Inn Chef. Wander into the fire kitchen and try a slab of hot-smoked salmon prepared in our smokehouse and while you’re there, start up a conversation with our chefs and see the FireWorks up close. While you’re at it enjoy a creative cocktail made from locally distilled spirits, a chilly beer brewed on Prince Edward Island or perhaps a cool glass of wine. You’ll meet new friends and start your evening in style! Our main seating begins at 7pm. Our chefs create a new menu daily using ingredients from our organic farm and herb gardens and from a roster of Prince Edward Island farmers, fisherfolk, foragers, and culinary artisans. It is served family style at long butcher-block tables overlooking beautiful Bay Fortune. The menu includes freshly baked wood-oven bread, smoked fish, local seafood chowder, our famous organic salad and best of all wood roasted meats, fish and vegetables all prepared before your very eyes. Just make sure you save room for our delicious freshly baked desserts!
