About Goronson Farm

Goronson Farm is a small, MOFGA-certified working family farm in Scarborough, Maine. We provide a location for a country wedding ceremony, welcoming couples, and their guests. Guests are sure to be impressed by the bountiful nature that surrounds the farm and its charming chickens & ducks who spend their whole lives living here. (We are a no-kill.) Our site allows guests to immerse themselves in nature and ditch the hustle of everyday city life. Yet, we are located just 15 minutes from downtown Portland and white sand ocean beaches. Our farm provides the opportunity to host an affordable, small-wedding ceremony & reception event in a peaceful, spiritual setting. Here couples can gather their closest friends and family to be married in the Ceremonial Mirrored Baltic Labyrinth or on one of the lawns, surrounded by fruit trees, tiny vineyards, flower gardens, chickens, ducks, and friendly staff members. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Portland, and 1 hour 45 minutes from Boston, our farm is easily accessed and a convenient choice to hold your small daytime wedding ceremony, après wedding cocktail reception, dinner, and wedding photoshoot. Floral arrangements made from the surrounding gardens are provided for your tables. You can ask your caterer to provide farm-to-table small bites prepared with our local organic produce & fruit or with our free-range, pastured chicken & duck eggs. One-of-a-kind floral designs provided by the owner. Base fee includes tables, floral arrangements, our Team's Day of Event Coordinator, a 20 X 20' tent, an outdoor private stall toilet, a stone terrace for seating, or as a photo booth. Goronson Farm has almost 6 acres of farmland with 2 small vineyards offering lots of room for a ceremony, cocktail party, and many photo opportunities. Labyrinths, in their true, non-maze forms, have existed for thousands of years in numerous places around the world. They can serve as symbols and spaces for introspection, mindfulness, and ceremony. Many labyrinth designs have a single opening and a single path that leads only to the center where you can pause for a moment, then turn around and retrace your steps out. Some designs, like the Baltic Wheel, have a continuous processional flow due to having a separate exit path from the center to a second opening in the outer edge. The Goronson Farm Ceremonial Labyrinth takes this idea a step further by combining two 4-circuit Baltic paths mirrored on either side of a shared center space. Each half meanders toward and then away from the center before coming together in the ceremonial space. There are (at least) two ways to walk this design. You can walk it as a full processional labyrinth by going in either the right or left entrance, walking to the center, and then walking the other half. When used for a wedding or other types of ceremony, each person walks half and they meet in the ceremonial space and can exit together from there. Guest chairs can be set out in a half-circle around the tree to view the ceremony as you exchange your vows. A grassy mound across the drive from the labyrinth is the perfect area for a food & beverage tent set up to entertain guests. Atmosphere/Decor: Set under the ancient pine tree, the Ceremonial Labyrinth is a spiritual space in which to hold a wedding ceremony. Couples can be married in the space 'held' by the huge pine and then take their first 7 steps out into the world together as newly weds.

Some couples prefer a pristine ceremony, and some prefer to be in the thick of things and share space with the flock. If this is you, you may choose to be married in front of Daisy Duck’s waterfall. This area is in back of the farmhouse, surrounded by flower gardens and the ‘working’ portion of the farm catering to the avian residents. A tent can be set up for a Roosters & Royalty cocktail reception with the Duke of Lemon, The Duckess of Oldenburg, Aloysius of Kent, Sir Zebra, & Daisy Duck. Base fee includes chairs/benches, tables & chairs, floral arrangements, Day of Event Coordinator, outdoor toilet, stone terrace for seating, or as a photo booth.
