The Spaulding Center was built in 1951 as a boat building facility. In 2000 the Building and Yard became a non-profit organization (501C) and has continued to serve the community with educational programs for youth and adults. Our boat yard is a working, educational boatyard that supports six apprentices into the marine industry each year. Renting out the Spaulding Boat-House for your special events helps us to continue offering these programs. We hope you enjoy this location as much as we do. In addition to the boathouse we can offer the use of our 1885 historic vessel FREDA.
