Founded in 1893 by Henry Schroeder, Schroeder’s is the oldest and largest Bavarian-inspired beer hall on the West Coast, surviving the 1906 earthquake before moving to its current Financial District location at 340 Front Street. It remains a premier destination for German food, pretzels, boot-glass beers, large-scale Oktoberfest celebrations in San Francisco, and weekly corporate happy hour gatherings. The space features over 5,000 square feet of modern maple wood finishing and large iron Chandeliers, as well as the original rosewood bar and Hermann Richter murals. After remodeling in 2014, it is still an elegant time capsule of San Francisco.
