About Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center

The Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center is highly valued for its historical significance as the home of the Phyllis Wheatley Branch of the YWCA, which served African-American women and girls during the time of segregation, prior to the merger with the St. Louis branch. At this time, the Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center is undergoing a significant renovation and will reopen for rental and community use in April, 2023. Host up to 200 guests in main event space and 20 guests in executive meeting room and enjoy our amenities such as an all-new A/V and tech package, a full catering kitchen, and private off-street parking.
