When my husband and I began planning our wedding, we got a recommendation from his sister about Shirley's Flowers in Rogers, Arkansas. We were definitely on a budget, and we were pleased that she was able to work within that. In our first meeting, we met, talked about what we wanted and how we wanted everything to look, and we were so happy with the price that we didn't even meet with any other florists! I had this idea about one of those big flower balls to hang from the ceiling of our ceremony venue that I had seen in a magazine, and she explained how the number of flowers required made those really expensive to produce. She then helped me come up with other arrangement ideas for decorating the ceremony space that would fit within our budget, and I really appreciated that. They even allowed us to use some of their vases and stands free of charge. We just had to return them that week. I was especially pleased with my bouquet. I knew I wanted red, but I wasn't sure exactly what type of flowers. I told them that I loved calla lilies, and they were able to special order these gorgeous red calla lilies and build the bouquet around that. It had roses and something called ranunculus, and it was stunning. We also asked for boutonnieres for the men and corsages for the ladies, and they were lovely. The boutonnieres were done with calla lilies and the green stem wrapped around, and they looked so unique. I was also impressed that the florist who did the delivery gave the men a special lesson on hugging with the other side to save the flowers. Good call! All in all, we had a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend Shirleys.
