My family and I were in a pickle with a huge amount of relatives on their way to visit and our caterer having just dropped us for a more lucrative offer. The only thing I could think to do was Google ""richmond caterer"", and there was DeFazio's. At first we couldn't believe their prices, so we called. There were no errors. So we figured that we'd be paying for the lower price in some other way, such as unfriendly or unreliable service. Nope. DeFazio's Catering Service was excellent in every way that they could be. There were no frills in what they did, but they did it quickly, cheaply, and with a smile. Surprisingly well-chosen and well-cooked food that impressed our usually snooty family (my grandmother actually had me compliment the chef - an absolute first), a sharp staff that actually seemed happy to be there serving us, and conservative yet beautiful decor. My only complaint would be DeFazio himself, who, while we were grateful to have as the maitre d', was a little cold at our first impression. A few people in our party commented on it and I was worried that there would be a stopper on the bottle of our festivities, but it turned out that DeFazio's demeanor wasn't cold...it was proud. When I finally built up the courage to compliment his food, DeFazio broke out into a wide smile and thanked me. And then went back to being proud. As he should be, because DeFazio's Catering Service is the best catering service I've ever used in the Richmond area. No exceptions.
