About McLaughlin Photography

Make sure every essential element of the wedding is captured with clarity, elegance and feeling. Find ordinary moments and turn them into extraordinary photographs. Get the best shots wherever they present themselves – on the aisle, at the altar or in the audience. These are the details a photographer aims to capture. They are the fine points an excellent photographer is sure to understand. They are the essentials of McLaughlin Photography. Jim has a genius – not an overstatement – for getting people together at weddings and reunions for those crucial group shots where one missing person or one set of closed eyes can ruin a photo. With considerable charm and humor Jim relaxes his group, makes them pay attention to his directions and gets a shot where every face is a portrait. In Jim’s hands the finished album and framed photos become more than a history of the event. They’re put together to create a handsome visual narrative – a storybook -- that family and friends can return to time and again to relive the day and remember not only how it looked ... but how it felt. If your wedding requires two sets of eyes behind the camera, Jim has a large network of other professional photographers he can look to for assistance. He works with only the best area photographers, thus assuring that your wedding has ample coverage. Along with Jim’s photojournalistic approach, a second photographer provides you with more pictures to choose from, and can be a real asset at larger weddings. A graduate of the prestigious Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turners Falls, MA, Jim has been a professional photographer for over 25 years. Jim moved to Glens Falls and opened his own studio in 1991. He has photographed more than twelve hundred weddings, not only in the Glens Falls area but in churches, synagogues and halls from the islands off the coast of Georgia to the mountain country of Vermont.
