Bears on the beaches, whales near the shore, wild weather, wind and waves and a last chance to see standing totems of Skedans, as they will all have fallen within a few years. Sleeping Beauty Trail has a lot of blow down which requires some maneuvering. There’s also many bends and turns in the trail where it has been redirected due to obstacles. The last part of the trail is the steepest and most challenging. There’s not much to see in the way of views until you reach the very top. Then the views are stellar in every direction! You can see the Queen Charlotte range going all the way to Gwaii Haanas; you can also see all the way to Rennell Sound, Masset Inlet, Charlotte, Sandspit, and Skidegate Inlet.
