We had a great time at the 3rd floor of Portsmouth Gas Light Co. last Saturday. The food was superb and the room is perfectly set up as a perfect place to entertain. We also enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby on the huge screen.
This is the best place in Portsmouth to hold a group gathering without the ridiculous cover charges and minimums the other places in town charge.

We hosted a casual evening get together to celebrate multiple college graduates. The event was outstanding!!! Starting with exceptional and quick communication from Michelle the event coordinator , a beautiful room, excellent food and fantastic service from Kate and Paxton!

Portsmouth Gas Light Co was incredible! Michelle and the staff were so accommodating before, during, and after the event, which made it super easy to coordinate. Our group also asked that the menu be fully vegetarian, and the food was delicious (both hot & cold food). I would definitely recommend this venue for events, and will be visiting again when I am in the Portsmouth area.

We held out company holiday party at the Portsmouth GasLight Company, and everything was seamless. The event manager Michelle worked hard for us, set the room up beautifully with holiday decor, the roasted turkey breast was an absolute hit, and the service was top notch. Would recommend again!

We visited three different venues to plan our alumni event for 60 in April 2024. Gaslight offered everything we were looking for…a cozy, classy space, with beautiful finishes, fresh, delicious food and drinks at a fair price. No question that we chose the right venue.
Michelle, our event coordinator, was organized and a great communicator who went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. Thank you. We will definitely return!
Wedding Reception

Perfect space for our wedding reception of 50 people. Very easy to plan as just picked items for a buffet and folks served themselves. Everyone loved the food. Large bar in the middle of the room is really fun, and cocktails were great. Small dance floor is set aside a bit so allowed guests who wanted to stay sitting and talking at the tables while strobe lights and party music played in the dance space. Parking is easy in the next door Hanover St parking garage. We also enjoyed a few of us being able to stay on at the public nightclub and then 1AM pizza downstairs to complete a fully epic day!

My husband and I hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Portsmouth Gas Light. From planning to the night of our event, we had a wonderful experience.
Space: The space blew our guests away - they had all been to the Portsmouth Gas Light before but never realized the space existed! The exposed brick, raised ceiling and big bar will take your breath away.
Service: Michelle and her team were amazing. Our guests always had a drink in their hand and our food station was always full!
Food: If you want the best pizza of your life, head to the Portsmouth Gas Light. Our menu featured meatballs, arancini, pulled pork sliders, Ceasar salad, rotating pizzas and apple crisp. Every time someone took a bite of their meal all we heard was, "THIS IS AMAZING."
Looking for your next event location? I highly recommend the Portsmouth Gas Light! We are looking forward to our next time back!
Perfect venue for our Welcome Party

We held our wedding welcome party on the third floor event space at Gas Light. Michelle & her team were absolutely awesome to work with. Michelle was very professional and helpful as we planned our event. We had well over 100 guests coming to town for our wedding and Gas Light was the perfect location to host our welcome party in a private venue. The space was perfect and the food and drinks were top notch. Highly recommend renting this space for your next event!

35th High School Reunion Event

I planned my high school reunion from afar, and Michelle made everything so easy! She had thought of everything and the venue looked great when I arrived early to do some last minute setup.
A last minute issue arose when I didn't have the correct adapter for the slideshow and Michelle did everything she could to make it work. (I got is working and all was well, we just needed to get creative).
My classmates had a great time at the event and they all stayed until last call. Being able to go from the nightclub to the patio was a big hit, and attendees could be found everywhere.
I would use the Portsmouth Gaslight again for a future event. Everything went smoothly and I was able to enjoy the night with my classmates. Thank you Michelle!

We hosted a welcome party for 100 people at the Portsmouth Gas Light to kick off the weekend for our son's wedding. We worked with Michelle on planning the event and she and her team were amazing. Michelle went above and beyond to make the night special for our family and friends. The pizza and slider stations were delicious and exactly what we wanted for our casual event. The location in Downtown Portsmouth is perfect and just a short walk from all the downtown hotels. The atmosphere of the room is warm and bright and easily accommodated our large group. I would absolutely encourage anyone to hold their important event at the Portsmouth Gas Light!

The whole event was amazing! All of the staff were super helpful and friendly! PRIDE Event and Drag Show

We recently hosted a PRIDE fundraiser at the Gas Light in the upstairs nightclub, and we could not have asked for a better location, or staff. Michelle was a dream to work with,and handled all of the details in a timely and professional manner. We were very happy with our wedding welcome party at the Portsmouth Gas Light Company. Michelle helped us plan the menu, took care of decorating the room for us, and made sure that the drinks and food were replenished during our three-hour event. Our guests enjoyed the historic, laid-back atmosphere of the room, with its exposed brick and big windows. The location in downtown Portsmouth was ideal for guests who wanted to further explore after our party. Great spot!
