The venue can host garden ceremonies or receptions for up to 100 guests, though we recommend a maximum of 75 if hosting both the ceremony and reception on-site. Indoors, we can accommodate up to 40 guests for a seated meal or ceremony, and up to 75 guests for a standing cocktail reception.
Yes, meals hosted in the garden require a tent reservation in case of inclement weather. If your guest count is 40 or fewer, a tent is optional depending on your preference. All tent and outdoor lighting rentals must be secured through our exclusive vendor, Ocean Tents.
Because the venue is located in a historic residential neighborhood, amplified live bands and external DJs are not permitted. We allow acoustic musicians and small speakers for playlist playback. For DJ services, we work exclusively with Stylus DJ Company, and no other outside DJs are allowed on the property.
To respect our residential neighbors, all private events must conclude and guests must exit the property by 9:00 PM.
We work with an exclusive catering partner, Power Events Catering. They manage event setup, cleanup, trash removal, bar service, and the procurement of rental items like linens, cutlery, and glassware. Self-catering and takeout are not permitted.
While we do not have on-site private parking, there are several public parking garages conveniently located within two to three blocks of the property.
Built in 1786, the historic Hill-Physick House features medical history exhibits, stunning period wallpapers, an 18th-century fanlight, and a whimsical, tree-lined garden. We also operate our sister historic property, the Powel House, located just a block and a half away.
We do not provide any technical or AV equipment. Clients are welcome to bring their own small speakers for background music, provided they conform to our neighborhood sound limits.
We typically require a lead time of one to three months to book and coordinate a private event, depending on venue availability.
For intimate groups of up to 40 guests, dining can be held indoors. If your guest count exceeds 40, your dining area will be located in our garden, which will require a tent reservation in case of inclement weather.
