Mystic Aquarium was a wonderful place to have our reception. We had approximately 75 guests and there was more than enough room for everyone to eat, dance, and mingle comfortably. The food was absolutely delicious, and we had a large number of choices of main entrees and appetizers and desserts to choose from. The staff was so helpful throughout the planning process, and they were quick to respond to all of our requests for assistance and several short-notice changes we needed to make. All of our guests are still talking about what a unique place it was to have a wedding. It was surreal to have the fish swimming all around us during the party. Contrary to what many people think it would be like to have a wedding in an aquarium atmosphere, the Mystic Aquarium is a world-class facility that is impecably well maintained, clean, and professionally run. Also, it is within several hundred yards of historic Mystick Village, where there are about 40 shops to browse through, which is perfect for guests who arrive before the wedding. There is lodging almost directly across the street and also within a few miles of the aquarium. Historical Downtown Mystic is also just several miles away, which includes Mystic Seaport and many tiny shops by the Mystic Drawbridge. Many of the wedding guests went out on the town after the wedding and had a great time in the area. If you're looking for a place that's absolutely beautiful and different from all the typical wedding halls and hotel ballrooms, definitely check this site out!
