Catered By Design's mission is to bring your events to life with sumptuous food and refreshing beverages presented in spectacular fashion. This also includes being a good steward of the environment. Our goal is to continually improve our sustainability practices by working closely with our vendors and partners to minimize the impact on the environment. Sam Gray, the President of Catered by design, started in his grandmother's kitchen as just a young kid, working up into Executive Chef positions at multiple restaurants and opening a few of his own, Sam has a lifetime of experience under his belt. Deciding to settle down over 17 years ago and began his journey with Catered by Design, he has built a loyal team to create and serve thousands of food & event seeking clients in Chicago and the greater area. As an industry leader, Catered by Design has raised the bar of excellence in presentation with their unique hand forged metal, river rock and granite displays which are accented with pin spot LED lighting. Innovation and creativity abounds with their “floating” buffets and “hanging” beverage trees, which when filled with Cannoli Shooters, Cheesecake Lollipops and their famous Chopped “tini” Salads, elicit “wows” from their clients and guests.

Top of the line catering and hospitality. - An Eventective User from Chicago, Illinois

I had the great honor of organizing a benefit brunch for war veterans over this past summer. When I first found out that I was chosen to help organize this event I felt overwhelmed, but when I discovered Catered By Design and got a chance to talk to a representative all my worries went away. The person I spoke to was very kind and extremely helpful. I had never done something like this before and she did everything she could to make me feel comfortable. I remember writing out a long list of ridiculous questions about how to go about planning and catering my event. Surely enough my representative had all of the answers! At this point I was certain I was going to use Catered By Design. As plans started coming together the event date was getting closer. I was a nervous wreck. By the time the day finally arrived everything was looking absolutely fantastic! We had a beautiful display to honor our veterans with and food that everyone loved. I don't think this could have gone any better. I don't know what I would have done without Catered By Design's great help and guidance. Since my first experience with event planning I have gotten more actively involved in projects like this. I have used Catered By Design for each and every event I have had the pleasure of organizing. I certainly do not think I will go to any other event vendor for as long as I continue to do these types of events. I highly reccommend Catered By Design to anyone in the Chicagoland area. They are GREAT!
