About The Engine Room

The Engine Room is a unique event venue located in historic downtown Monroe, GA in part of the Monroe Cotton Mills that housed the engines that ran the mill machinery during its 90 years of operation. The building, a part of Monroe’s history since 1895, has been restored and kept intact, including the hardwood flooring, exposed brick walls with weathered paint, heart of pine columns, iron bars covering a few of the windows and main entrances with original sliding fire doors. Modern conveniences such as a full service commercial catering prep kitchen, updated industrial chic restrooms and a large bridal suite make this fully accessible, climate controlled space one of the largest in Walton county. The 6,400 sq ft main hall of The Engine Room can host parties of up to 400 seated or 500 standing guests, yet can be divided allowing smaller events to host both the wedding ceremony and the reception in the same room. The expansive outdoor lawn provides an acre and a half of green space for ceremonies, parties and picnics with the historic brick mill building, with its accompanying towers serving as a picturesque backdrop. The Engine Room also features a outdoor patio, tucked away for a private open-air atmosphere for receptions and small ceremonies.
