A Neo-Georgian Revival Style 10,000 plus square foot mansion located just south of Martinsburg in Berkeley County, WV. The mansion is situated on 17 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds surrounded by flowing trees, woodlands, and gardens.
The Purple Iris at Hartwood is available for wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, corporate dinners and retreats, picnics, anniversary parties, rehearsal dinners, and any special event that would require a celebration. The Purple Iris at Hartwood also features an intimate but casual restaurant located on the second level of the mansion. The Carriage House offers three luxury boutique style rooms available for overnight accommodations. The Purple Iris at Hartwood is available for wedding receptions. Wedding ceremonies can be held on the premise with the reception following. We offer on premise catering, equipment rental, and coordination. When renting the Hartwood Mansion for a Wedding Reception the first level is available to all guests as well as the ballroom area, and the outdoor patio area.
Food and beverage must be provided by The Purple Iris. The Mansion is also available for corporate events, social gatherings, picnics, private dinner parties, and much more.
Harwood Mansion and Grounds: Offered for rent to individuals who wish to host an event, from the most elegant and formal wedding or dinner party to the casual garden picnic. Offering extensive menus and a full bar. We can accomodate up to 160 seated or 250 cocktail style inside.
We are available for private or corporate events and small conferences of up to 130 with three breakout rooms.
Hartwood is a superb example of Neo-Georgian Revival architecture. Superior design and craftsmanship have been artistically and gracefully blended to provide ambiance of elegance and warmth. Beautifully situated on the crest of a gently sloping hill dotted with stately trees and floral gardens, Hartwood is an impressive structure built of steel reinforced , eight inch thick, Pennsylvania blue limestone. The Mansion was fully restored in 1998 and a ballroom was added to the mansion. Chef Daniel Harshbarger and his wife Tiffany are now the current owners.
