I have to apologize to Pastor John for the delay in this review - life of a married couple seemingly moves at a much faster pace than I had anticipated. To everyone in need of an officiant, I would recommend you look no further. Neither my wife or I are religous (or even of the Christian faith), so I had some apprehensions for meeting Pastor John. However, from the moment we met Pastor John, I knew I would take nobody else. He was very friendly, helpful, and inviting from the onset. He really understood our point of view, our confusion and even our fears, and talked to us with lots of warmth and respect. He was very interested and accomodating with our wishes, and encouraged us to make the experience our own. I'm embarassed to say how much this shocked me at the time - I was used to meeting officiants who are very rigid, religious, strange, or slightly snobbish about the whole experience! Pastor John insisted his involvement in our wedding only serve to make the day more special for us, and that was a refreshing change. I could go at length about how his calm and informative presence eased our fears on the day of, how easy his wife made our rehearsal and overall what a pleasant experience it was. Sitting and writing about it today, I have to reflect what a bargain it was as well because other officiants were charging a whole lot more and made us a lot less comfortable. To anyone lucky enough to have Pastor John still free for your planned wedding day - book it now or at least meet him.

My wife and I were really glad Pastor John officiated our wedding. When we first met him we immediately felt comfortable. He has a calm, warm, and professional demeanor. He outlined the ceremony in detail, gave us several options and suggestions, and listened to our comments. We even requested a last minute change to the ceremony and he adjusted the ceremony accordingly. Leading up to the wedding, Pastor John was quick to answer any questions by email. Pastor John ran the rehearsal well and calmed my nerves. We were missing some of the bridal party during the rehearsal so Pastor John made sure to go over the ceremony with the ones who were missing on the day of the wedding. It's also clear that he is a veteran of these things because he made sure to instruct us on little things like where to look during the ceremony, how to exchange rings, etc. He is also very aware of the photographers needs as well. He made sure to move out of the background for key shots like the first kiss. Because of all the prep and his experience, the ceremony was lovely and went off without a problem! We would definitely recommend Pastor John to our friends and family!

Pastor John is nothing short of amazing!! After a couple emails back and forth - Pastor John met with my fiancee and I at a Tim Horton's over a cup of coffee. It was very casual and we felt very much at ease. We discussed everything from the type of service, readings, vows, where to stand, who walks with whom, where to get a marriage license and what needs to be done when. He left us with a couple packages of information to go over. We felt very comfortable with his demeanor. A couple months prior to our wedding - we received the most terrible news - my future mother in law was diagnosed with cancer. It all happened so fast and she was in the hospital. We expected her to get better, but she never left the hospital. We soon realized our time with her was going to be incredibly short. Every day, her health and energy dimished. My fiance and I decided it was time to have a private ceremony for her and our immediate family. I called Pastor John on Tuesday June 13th at 10am and asked if he would be able to help us and perform a ceremony. We got married the next day at 10am. No rehearsal - he gave all cues and led us from start to finish. It was so incredibly special that he was able to perform our ceremony. My mother in law even commented on how much she liked him. She asked "is he the one that you guys had for July 23rd. I hope so; I really like him" We are definitely over the moon happy that we chose Pastor John to officate our wedding.

My husband and I planned the entire wedding ceremony from northern British Columbia. On the day we were wed, I could not have asked for a better wedding officiate. Pastor John Crawford was one of many wedding officiates my then husband and I looked at, and we were blown away by the number of outstanding reviews. We decided to give him a call and after speaking with him for the first time, we both decided he was the wedding officiate for us. Both my husband and I are religious but opted for a non religious ceremony. However pastor John was more than willing to let us do anything we wanted with the ceremony, saying "This is your day". This past July pastor John married my husband and I. He was very calming right off the bat. He met with us to go over what kind of ceremony we wanted and allowed us to add in whatever we wanted so that the ceremony reflected us as a couple. He was quick with replys for any questions we had. Out of all of the wedding vendors I dealt with for our wedding, Pastor John Crawford was the most professional, friendliest, organized, and detail-oriented. He was always available by phone, email, or text when we had questions. We knew he was the one who we wanted to marry us within 5 minutes of meeting him! The first time we met him, we were blown away with how prepared he was. He printed out copies of wedding vows, prayers/readings, and draft timeline of our wedding ceremony. He listened to our worries, concerns, and customized our wedding ceremony as per our requests. We met before our wedding rehearsal and went over the entire ceremony together. Our bridal party, families, and guests also loved him. After our wedding ceremony, he had left us copies of our wedding ceremony, a certificate, and etc. in an envelope for us to keep. A few days after the wedding, I get a mail from Pastor John with my wedding vows that I printed for myself. He said he forgot to include it in the envelope he had left us on the day of our wedding! Again, we were blown away! I cannot emphasize enough how Pastor John had been nothing but amazing. He is so thoughtful, professional, organized, and everything a bride/groom needs. We had a civil ceremony (that he helped us to create...very flexible with what your ceremony would be like) and are absolutely delighted with the service. He is a very caring, patient, professional and thorough person. It really felt like he was there to guide you instead of someone who is there making a business out of it. We live in Victoria so I originally told him I wanted to book him even before meeting him since it is very difficult to find time to ferry over & arrange a meeting. He was patient with us and offered to hold the wedding date for us without any pressure to book him until we could find time to meet him and get to have a feel of each other. Once we met, he answered many burning questions regarding wedding ceremony, gave tips on things we never even thought about, and reassured us that post-wedding stuff, such as marriage certificate submission, will be taken care of by him as well. We booked him on the spot. He emailed us 1 month prior to the wedding to finalize some details (I was very grateful for it since I was in utter shambles and had forgotten about contacting him). Everyone at the rehearsal (family, wedding party) commented on how much they liked him, as he was very kind and professional when he was teaching them how the ceremony should go down. I don't write reviews unless the person or company I worked with has been outstanding. Not good or very good or excellent….outstanding. Pastor John is that person. He was THE perfect officiant at my daughter's wedding three days ago. I found Pastor John on the internet. I contacted him and we met shortly after. I was late for the appointment but he was very calm and understanding. I truly appreciated that. I loved his demeanour. In fact, I loved it so much, I booked him right away. We met again so he could meet my daughter and her fiance. They were both very happy and very comfortable with Pastor John. Pastor John explained and read the entire ceremony to my daughter and her fiancé (now husband). He said if they wanted something changed, that was no problem. Within a few hours, they received a variety of options via email. He was willing to meet with them as often or as little as they required. Pastor John wanted to ensure they were comfortable and there were no surprises. He was on top of everything via email or phone calls. He arrived early for the rehearsal. He arrived early for the wedding day. We received so many wonderful comments from guests on the ceremony. We were truly blessed to have found such a wonderful, caring Pastor to officiate at the most important day for my daughter and her fiancé. If you are looking for a Pastor to officiate at your wedding…someone who truly cares about your feelings and thoughts and who is willing to go the whole nine yards, I would highly recommend Pastor John. I believe he is the best.

John was incredibly accommodating and flexible, and our ceremony far surpassed our expectations. He really cared about what we wanted to include in the ceremony. He helped us to tailor our ceremony specifically to our family and was even able to include our daughter in the ceremony. Pastor John was truly awesome in helping us plan our shotgun wedding. He is calm, professional, organized, helpful and friendly. We really appreciated his pleasant demeanour during a busy time in our lives when we were feeling scattered and overwhelmed with so many other wedding details. He incorporated some humour and unique readings into our ceremony and delivered it with aplomb, resulting in the perfect balance of serious and funny, formal but not stuffy. Our friends really enjoyed the service. Pastor John gave my dad some last minute coaching before we walked down the aisle and everything went off without a hitch. (As an aside, my dad loved Pastor John as well - and he's a tough critic.) For our wedding, he wore a robe (at our request he went out and bought one), which for us, was the perfect balance between "priest meets officiant". We were both raised Catholic but no longer practice. We thought our families would appreciate the judge-like robe -- visually it's very "churchy" and regal and a step up from wearing just a suit. The look worked well for us and created a great contrast to our less formal RVYC Jericho location. We highly recommend Pastor John and really appreciated his flexibility and willingness to meet us in Vancouver for our initial meeting.

My husband and I could not have been MORE PLEASED with Pastor John! Having to plan a wedding from two provinces away (Regina, Saskatchewan), our first initial consultation with Pastor John was a Skype date. We were a bit nervous at first, but within 5 minutes of speaking to him, Thomas and I were pleased with our choice. Even Thomas said "Wow, you really scored a good one! Good job honey!" And we did! My husband and I live over on Vancouver Island.It was decided that we would have our wedding on the mainland in Aldergrove where we originally met.My mother signed up on line with Eventectives .Pastor John answered immediately.In a couple days we were over to meet with him at my moms and he had already drafted up a personalized ceremony for us.. He was very thourough and encouraged all our ideas and input to make the ceremony ours. we wanted to incorporate our Celtic heritages into it and asked for a ancient handfasting to be added into the ceremony.We had no idea where to find the ceremony itself but Pastor John said to leave it up to him and he would get back to us..Well within 24 hours he had the first full draft of our wedding including handfasting ceremomy , celtic prayers and poems.He was very good at fixing any mistakes and it was done very quickly. My husband and I had been talking about our wedding for 2 years but never put anything into action. 3 days before our anniversary we decided we wanted it done for our anniversary.
