Where Art Meets the Occasion Host your next event in one of downtown Knoxville’s most distinctive historic spaces. Anchoring the historic 100 Block of Gay Street in the heart of the downtown Arts District, the Emporium brings the character of an 1890s building to a flexible event space with rotating exhibitions of local and regional art. The Lower Gallery accommodates up to 150 guests for seated receptions or 300 for standing receptions. For events that include both a ceremony and reception, we recommend 125 guests or fewer. Large windows fill the space with natural light, highlighting original wood beams, exposed brick walls, and 18-foot ceilings. The space is ideal for dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions, fundraisers, corporate and nonprofit events, and private gatherings. You may work with the caterers and vendors of your choice. Rentals are available to individuals, nonprofits, businesses, and other organizations. Event rentals support the Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the region’s arts and culture community.
