I am a licensed marriage officiant, specializing in custom, non-religious wedding ceremonies.
As a secular humanist minister, with degrees in both philosophy and electrical engineering, I draw my inspiration from science, literature, music, the creative arts, and the beauty of the natural world.
I received my professional training from Humanist Canada, and I am certified by the Ontario government to legally solemnize marriage. I am based in Kitchener-Waterloo, originally from North York (Toronto), and I perform ceremonies for couples all over southern Ontario.
I believe that every love story deserves to be celebrated! I am proud of Canada's standing in the world as a welcoming and socially progressive nation, and I welcome couples of every ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and cultural background. I would be deeply honoured to affirm the union that exists between you, in front of your family and friends, on your wedding day.
Since I have been a lifelong student of several world languages, I am proud to offer a bilingual or multilingual wedding ceremony in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Persian, Greek, and Latin. Including a reading in your ancestral language is a wonderful way to honour your family and add a special touch to your wedding!
On a final note: Weddings are fun events, and I am always delighted to entertain special requests. Whether your wish is to incorporate Star Trek references into your ceremony or to exchange a spoonful of Nutella as a symbol of the sweetness of life, I will use my experience in professional writing and public speaking to deliver a beautiful, memorable ceremony that is uniquely written just for you.
