Wonderful place for a reception, An Eventective User from Chicago, IL

Eaglewood Resort and Spa in Itasca, IL was a great place for our wedding reception. It is a huge resort with stunning prairie style architecture and lovely views of the attached golf course. Pictures on the golf course before the reception were great. We chose to have our reception in pavilion on site. It was a great change of pace from other weddings we had been to and offered a unique place for our special day. On top of the great looks, Eaglewood had fantastic service and delicious food. It starts with the tasting meal to choose what you eat. The tasting is an intimate dinner at a table in the kitchen of the resort. Your personal chef whips up your selections as you and your soon to be wife leisurely make your choices. This was way different from some of the group tastings that other venues offered. We decided to go with the Chilean Sea Bass and Filet combo, wow. It was the best wedding food I've ever had. The cake was included in the price and was also fantastic. We only had two drawbacks from our experience. If you have your reception in the pavilion, you must walk inside the resort to get to the bathroom. It wasn't too far, but still not that convenient. The second problem was they broke our cake topper. This was disappointing, but they ended up paying us back for it. Overall, we were very happy with the whole experience and don't doubt our choice at all.

Gorgeous mansion for event rental in Morgan Park/Beverly Hills (the Ridge Historic District in Chicago). This space is ideal for weddings, showers, dinner parties, cocktail parties, holiday parties, funeral luncheons, etc... The first floor has a large welcoming foyer and coat closet. The event space on the first floor includes a large living room, an enormous dining room, and large library - each with 13-foot ceilings and furnished with antiques. In addition to these spaces on the first floor, there is a large, four-season enclosed porch. There are also two large rooms, two small rooms, and a screened-in porch on the second floor in addition to the entertaining space on the main floor. The home has hardwood, tile, and natural stone throughout. There is also a stunning staircase with a landing - perfect for a wedding. Finally, there is a large deck and garden for added outdoor space in mild weather. The rental is for the home’s use. You are free to use a caterer of choice.

Alhambra Palace is a one of a kind, dynamic venue that transports all who enter into another world. Sweeping archways, marble accents, mosaic tile, crystal chandeliers and hand carved sculptures frame the multi-level, 24,000 square foot Moorish- like castle. Artifacts from Egypt, Lebanon and Morocco can be seen throughout. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by a bar and lounge with intimate alcove seating. To the east is the restaurant which seats 100 people. The Babylon room is part modern, part historic with its curvaceous metal back chairs and stone carved wall hangings depicting scenes from the 13th century. The Alhambra Room, which seats 500 people, is awe –inspiring, soaring three stories high. A full stage with a state of the art sound and lighting system allows Alhambra to host and offer live entertainment. Seating on the expansive ground level and the two tiered circular balconies provide ample room for meeting and small group gathering as well as large scale conferences. Ample space allows for a dance floor, and tables can be added or removed to accommodate a sit down occasion or standing reception. Guided by a waterfall, stairs lead through the Alhambra Hall to the Marrakech Room, a posh and romantic space for more than 200 people. The high ceiling ballroom can be divided with a luxurious floor to ceiling ruby velvet curtains. Oriental rugs framed with leather cushioned settees Oriental rugs and elaborate wood carved Moroccan chairs offer a spot to relax and enjoy.
