About the space: The Coronation Theater is Houston’s home for improv comedy, and our new building on Canal Street is built for events of all kinds. It’s a fun, creative space with everything you need to put on a great event, for up to 85 seated in the theater or 140 standing across the venue. The Theater has 85 seats facing a real stage, with a state-of-the-art audio and lighting system and a projector. It works for presentations, screenings, live performances, panels, launches and company all-hands. Your audience sits in a real theater, not a hotel ballroom. The Bar & Lounge has a full liquor bar and lounge seating for 40, which opens onto an outdoor patio seating 20. It’s a great spot for receptions, networking hours, happy hours and after-parties, before or after a program in the theater. The Multi-Use Room seats 20 and adapts to what you need: a green room for performers or speakers, a breakout classroom, or a staging and setup area. Also on site: A small kitchen for food prep. Outside food and catering are welcome. A ticket booth for guest check-in 4 restrooms, 3 of them ADA accessible Fully wheelchair accessible 250 dedicated parking spots on site, free for your guests Add-ons: Bar service: Our bartender serves from the full liquor bar. All drinks must come from our bar; no outside alcohol. Tech operator: Our in-house tech runs sound, lighting and projection, so your event looks and sounds professional. Live entertainment: Our professional improvisers can perform a custom, workplace-friendly show, emcee your event, or lead an interactive team-building workshop. Great for: corporate offsites and trainings, team-building, conferences and breakouts, product launches, film and comedy screenings, live shows and showcases, workshops, birthday and holiday parties, fundraisers, and after-parties. Location: We’re on Canal Street in Houston’s East End, a few minutes east of downtown. It’s easy to get to, and parking is never a problem. House rules: No outside alcohol.
