My husband and I got married at Cross Keys Barn on October 1, 2022. The barn is absolutely beautiful! Everything was clean and fresh and the grounds were kept and maintained extremely well. The barn offers a beautiful view of the Massanutten peak. It rained on our wedding day, but there were two backup locations for the ceremony that we were prepared for and still offered a cute and cozy vibe. It was a pleasure working with Karen over the past year. She was very informative and offered a lot of ideas and suggestions for things we hadn’t even thought about (we weren’t working with a wedding planner, so we were new to all of this!). You can tell Karen has been in the business for a while and is passionate about what she does. During the rehearsal and ceremony Karen and her husband were extremely helpful with the setup and ensuring that we had everything we needed. Karen even shared her own pictures that she had taken during the ceremony with us, which was really nice! From the beginning, Karen was clear with her expectations of us and our guests. As with anywhere, there are certain rules that must be followed and this is for the protection of the venue and its licenses. We had no problems with her expectations and appreciated her transparency. The night went off with no problems - maybe a reminder here and there of certain rules, but my husband and I along with all of our guests had a great time! I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a barn vibe with a nice view. The price was reasonable and Karen allowed us to come by anytime we needed during the planning process if we needed to get another look (we just needed to coordinate a time with her, of course). Some family members even stopped by unannounced a few times, and Karen welcomed them in to take a look around! We can’t wait to return to the venue in the future to take some family photos with the view!

We LOVED working with CKB! The space is not only gorgeous, but ran with every piece of the puzzle in mine. Karen was such a joy to work with and made sure everything ran smoothly and beautifully. Our caterers are now her biggest fans, they said CKB is one of the few venues that really works hand in hand with them to make sure their job is as seamless as possible. And our photographers are back at the barn at least once a month because Karen is so wonderful to work with. Our top suggestion if you chose to work with CKB (it's a good choice ;)) make sure you get the insurance information from your vendors early. And apply for your ABC license sooner rather than later.

She is incredibly organized, super responsive to any questions/concerns during the planning process, and has lots of experience-- really a dream for any couple planning a wedding. Karen made sure that everything was taken care of that day, it rained in the morning and everything was still ready for our event in the afternoon. I also appreciated that Karen followed Covid precautions, and helped us to social distance the space as well as set out masks and hand sanitizer for our guests. My husband and I were lucky enough to allow Cross Keys Barn host our wedding on the most popular wedding date of the year, 10.10.2020. Our experience was great from the start. Owner, Karen, was prompt in communication, detailed, and always welcomed any questions and visits to the venue at any time. This was a major asset! Additionally, we were provided with information that assisted us in determining the perfect vendors to help make our day remarkable. All of the staff was friendly, helpful, and hard working. From set-up to tear down, they paid close attention to our detailed layouts and offered suggestions to make things easier on guests and ourselves as the couple. The venue is beautiful, well maintained, and fit for the perfect wedding. It truly is the ''venue with a view''. All of our guests complimented on the lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Cross Keys Barn along with Karen and Tim (the owners) were excellent to work with. Our wedding (09/19/2020)was perfect and all our visions came to life. Karen was so helpful talking through different details and what worked well at their venue but was also open to our ideas and making our vision come to life. Planning a wedding with COVID was not easy but Karen had great ideas to make sure to keep everyone safe and healthy and we are so happy that we choose to go with this venue. Communicating with Karen was easy and she always responded timely which I appreciated. She was also open to us visiting the venue multiple times which also helped with planning! The venue itself is so beautiful with the twinkle lights, details of the barn, stone room and amazing mountain views. We could not have asked for a better venue, team of vendors or wedding day.

If you are looking for a venue that is beautiful and classy with a country mountain view this is the place to be! The romantic setting puts anyone in the mood to say i do to the one you love! My husband and I enjoyed our day and things went so smoothly because of all the accommodations and recommendations. The staff is very professional while also being very personable. It was great to have the option to have our ceremony indoor or outdoor - which we chose indoor. The barn layout was very easy for our caterer to set up and tear down as well as the DJ. Also there is a large area to dance. We had the perfect wedding at Cross Keys!! And would recommend to anyone!!

We can't say enough good things about our experience having our wedding reception at Cross Keys Barn. From Karen's communication throughout to the venue itself (absolutely beautiful), every aspect of working with Cross Keys Barn was better than expected. When searching for a venue, Karen stood out among the other potential venues based on her responsiveness and ability to actually answer our questions/welcome our families for a visit. We had our wedding at a local church and our reception at Cross Keys, so our requests/requirements were a little different. But Cross Keys provides a large room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready and allows full use of their grounds, which was awesome for photos. We got to take the golf cart out into the corn fields for photos that turned out fantastic. Everything, including our vendors communication with Karen, went incredibly smoothly. The day-of staff (who Karen recommended) along with Karen helped ensure that everything was set up properly and running without a hitch. Our reception was a blast, and SO MANY of our guests commented on how great the venue was. We wouldn't have changed a thing! Kudos to Karen and Cross Keys Barn!

It ended up raining on our wedding day and we held the ceremony right in the reception hall. It truly looked magical in there with the twinkle lights and few decorations we brought ourselves. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Karen took pictures throughout the night and arrived early to set up tables and chairs and stayed late with her husband to clean up the barn afterwards. They were so very helpful throughout the entire planning process and I could not have asked for a better venue/experience.

Working with Karen (and Tim) over the past year and a half to plan our wedding has been a great experience! First of all, Karen is flexible - she was very willing to work with the couple's schedule to plan and answer questions. She also encouraged us to email her anytime we had questions or concerns and she was quick to reply; we emailed her on numerous occasions (especially in the last few months leading up to the wedding) and we always appreciated her prompt response and professionalism. Karen is also so knowledgeable - during visits we had at the barn, she would say, "Oh, you might want to consider...". She had many helpful ideas for how to make our wedding go as smoothly as possible and was a great resource! In addition, the owners have several albums displaying the numerous events they have hosted since they started offering the barn as a venue. We enjoyed looking through them to get ideas for our own big day. Once you decide to book with her she sends you this package with all her recommendations with vendors that she's worked with in the past. She definitely gives you everything you need to get your wedding planning started. If ever you have questions she is an email or phone call away. The venue itself is so gorgeous. The views on this property is amazing. Although it did rain during our wedding day, the inside of the barn was still set up to have a beautiful ceremony. This barn is already set up with Christmas lights which is all you need to make this place perfect for your wedding. They also have an onsite bridal suite which has AC and was where all my bridesmaid and myself got ready. Definitely recommend this place for any bride!

Everything about the venue was perfect, from the amazing scenery out back to the breathtaking lights all over the reception area. Karen was also extremely helpful in helping us plan for the wedding, supplying us with a list of recommended vendors (which were all spectacular), and answering any and all questions we had extremely quickly and perfectly. Every detail about the venue and owners made for an amazing wedding that will be remembered forever!

Magical Barn/Farm Venue — An Eventective User from Germantown, Maryland

Where do I even begin? My Parents and I looked at MANY barn/farm venues and who knew 2.5 hours away from us(in Maryland) was where we would choose. We chose Cross Keys Barn because of the GORGEOUS hand built barn, beautiful and well kept grounds, twinkling lights, amenities, flexibility, and of course The Liskey Family who own and run it!! Karen is very responsive, warm, open to giving advice, and really knows how to handle an event. We loved the fact that we had the barn all day (9-11 for music /12 for cleanup) for the wedding, The Liskeys had tables, chairs, wine barrels, and much more that came with the rental, the barn had indoor restrooms for guests, huge bridal suite, and if there wasn’t another wedding on the Friday before ours then we could set up which did work out! Karen often checked in to make sure we had the right documents and payments in on time, that the vendors were ready and liscenced properly, and that we had a good layout and run of show. The day of the wedding, she checked in but left us to our own as to not bother us. During the wedding, she took photos which was a beautiful surprise to us. She even caught the Father/Daughter first looks which was so special!! She and her Husband, Tim, ensured everything was perfect the day of. The attention to detail and care they put into their farm really shows and so many of my guests have raves about what a warm and inviting venue it was!! After the wedding, without prompting, we received our damage deposit within a few days of the wedding. I HIGHLY recommend Cross Keys Barn for your wedding/celebration venue!!! You won’t regret it!!

Beautiful Autumn Wedding at Cross Keys Barn, LLC — An Eventective User from Gaithersburg, MD

Our daughter Kristina and her husband Adam got married on the lawn of Cross Keys Barn on Oct. 28, 2017. They later had their reception at the Barn. It is a lovely venue, with the barn being the best one that we visited (and we had visited a lot of venues). The owners have it all extremely well-built and decorated, with little golden lights, that make the place look magical! They have white tables and chairs inside, as well as for the ceremony outside. They have a large deck overlooking fields and a mountain. The barn’s huge yard is clean and used only for events. They also have a kitchen, indoor ladies and gents’ nicely appointed/decorated restrooms, as well as a huge bridal attendants’ room in which to get ready, and a smaller room for the groom and groom’s men. While Cross Keys Barn is a rustic type of venue, it has all the necessary things that we wanted. It was the most complete package that we found, and the rental price was a reasonable one. The owners are a lovely couple who made sure that every detail was taken care of. They also provided lists and/or referrals of local vendors with whom they have had good experience. This was very helpful to us because we were not familiar with the Harrisonburg, Va area. Our daughter had a lovely wedding that everyone enjoyed and complimented!

The March Lawrence wedding was held at this superb venue. The wedding couple was married at this pastoral setting with a panoramic view of historic Virginia Mountains as their background scene. The barn provided a festive atmosphere. The renovated wood floors, the high ceiling and large wooden beams enhanced this experience. This beautiful restored barn was the perfect location for our wedding. It is gorgeously decorated with many Christmas lights inside the barn and the backdrop of Massanutten Mountain is breathtaking. Karen and Tim Liskey, the owners of the venue, are extremely pleasant to work with. They are punctual with their email and phone call responses. They are cheerful and professional. We were thankful they set up and tore down all the tables and chairs as well as took care of trash removal during the entire event. There is a very nice area for both the bridal and grooms parties to get ready, the stone room under the deck was an enjoyable place for the cocktail hour, and the center space in the barn makes for a perfect dance floor. Our ceremony was in August so the tall corn and hay bails were a nice backdrop for pictures. There is plenty of space in the back yard for lawn games and the large deck makes for a great place to socialize. We would recommend this venue to anyone.
