Carl Ballou, aka CBDanceman, provides DJ services for Weddings and Special Events throughout Southern Oregon, and has been a Barn Dance leader and Square Dance Caller for over 35 years, hosting programs for Churches, Schools, Scout Troops, YMCA groups, social clubs, youth organizations. Carl's specialty is taking a group with little or no dance experience and introducing them to the joy of dancing. He loves to get everyone out on the floor doing old-time social and novelty dances (with brief instruction), making any event or celebration truly memorable.
Carl also teaches basic steps and stylings in Ballroom dance, and creates custom "Sparkle on Your Wedding Day" choreography for Bridal Couple's First Dance.

Carl was a great DJ for our 50 Year High School Reunion! He was punctual and organized. He played a variety of music ranging from nostalgic 1970’s all the way up to some fun music through the 2000’s. He played the perfect background music which gave the alumni some time to socialize and reunite with one another, and then played some fun dance music! He also helped teach the Macarena dance steps to some of us who forgotten all the dance moves! Thank you, Carl!

Thank you, Cathy! I had a great time as well. The venue hosts were very friendly and accommodating, making set-up and move out very easy. I had hoped more alums would be dancing, but I'm glad they enjoyed the variety of music. Let's not wait another 50 years for the next one!

Carl was easy to work with and kept the day moving flawlessly for my wedding celebration! He was on time, provided all equipment needed, and made all announcements as planned. He was very helpful in my planning stages as well, providing a detailed questionnaire and a helpful tips page to make sure I had everything in order for my special day, even outside of the music & announcements! He hit his cues and honored my music selection and kept the dance floor full til it was time to go home. It was truly the happiest day of my life, and Carl helped make it happen!

Fantastic Caller for Church Hoedown

CB Danceman—Square dance caller, Carl was a pleasure to work with for our 3rd annual church hoedown. Parishoners of all ages were mixing it up on the dance floor to CB Danceman’s calls. He taught us how to promenade, dosey doe, and many other group dances. He was especially patient teaching some of us our left from our right.
Great caller and wonderful to work with—on time, within budget, loves what he is doing and shares that enthusiasm with everyone!
