The MSU Union: A great venue for any occassion - An Eventective User from East Lansing, MI

I am writing on behalf of the Michigan State University Union, in the middle of the MSU campus in East Lansing, Michigan. The MSU Union is a great venue to hold your next meeting or event. I work at MSU so i have had many work events there, from short meetings to day long seminars to on campus fairs. As an alumna of the university, I also held my wedding reception at the MSU Union a few years ago. I can tell from personal experience that the Union has always delivered wonderful service and quality at a reasonable price. The Union offers you a multitude of options in terms of food, hours, and service in order to meet your financial needs and goals. They can be full service and take care of everything for you or they can just give you a small amount of service if that is all your event demands (they even let us cut our own wedding cake so we didn't have to pay the cake cutting fee). The food has always been great, and portion sizes huge. Additionally, everything is nice and clean and made to look nice (or beautiful, depending on what the event demands). Rooms range from very small meeting rooms to mid size rooms that can be opened or closed to fit your needs, to a huge ballroom which could accommodate almost any need. Overall, the union is a great place to hold your next East Lansing event, whether it is small or large, minimal or elegant.

A picturesque chapel on a hill - An Eventective User from East Lansing MI

The MSU Alumni Chapel is a beautiful venue in which to have your wedding. The English Tudor styling of the chapel gives an air of class and elegance to the ceremony. The large vaulted ceilings make the room feel spacious and inviting. There are many rooms in the basement for use to get ready for both the bride and the groom. There is even a large room for gathering the bride and groom parties for pictures in the basement of the building. This room has a wall of windows looking out to the river walk below. Outside the building is perfect for pictures. It sits atop a hill and behind it rushes the Red Cedar River. This area displays a lush green environment and begs for group photos amongst the natural backdrop. The building is situated for easy access to Grand River Rd. and downtown East Lansing. With many hotels and MSU's vast amounts of banquet halls the area is perfect for hosting everyone that is invited to the event as well as the parties and celebrations after the ceremony. The sanctuary has a multiple organs and a piano for those that wish to use them. They are also quite accommodating as we had a harpist come in and they easily made room for her. Lastly when a wedding occurs they will ring the chapel bell announcing to the world in a very special and unique way that you are now wed!

High Recommendation for the Michigan State University Alumni Memorial Chapel - An Eventective User from East Lansing, MI

When I began the process of looking for a venue to hold my wedding, i wanted somewhere quaint and charming. I didn't matter if it was a church or a different type of venue. I looked several places but ultimately decided on the Michigan State University Alumni Memorial Chapel, as my husband and I both went to graduate school at Michigan State University. The Chapel is located on a quiet part of the very large and busy campus. It is small and charming. It sits right along the grand river. There are blooming flowers and trees around the building and lots of great places for photos (assuming you get married any time other than a Michigan winter). You can probably fit about 200 people inside. The inside is not as beautiful as the outside, but there are stained glass windows and it is quite serene. After the ceremony, they will ring the bell for you so that it is known all over campus that someone was just wed. I was very satisfied with this venue. It was just what i wanted. Parking is not really a problem if you are getting married on a weekend. I have heard that you have to book this location a year or two in advance because so many alumni want to get married there. I think i only booked it about 8 months in advance though. There are many places in East Lansing to hold your reception following the ceremony, including local art galleries, the MSU Union, the Kellogg Center, and so forth. The Chapel is very close to all of these. Overall, this a charming option if you are looking to have a small ceremony.
