The Abbey Byre was originally built in 1920 by the monks of St. Bernard Abbey to be used as a hay barn, serving their prized dairy herd operation. In 2012 it was renovated and repurposed as a Performing Arts and Event Center, housing theatrical performances, workshops, meetings, retreats, concerts, wedding receptions, continuing education, professional development meetings, parties, and much more. Maintaining much of its history, the Byre boast a semi removable stage area, refurbished dimmable light fixtures along with string lighting, original wood milled at St. Bernard, and 1954 door hardware, all incorporated into an artful venue for social engagements. The Byre also features an outdoor area that is available for gatherings that has overhead string lighting and room for seated or standing tables of your choice. A large area behind the stage easily accommodates catering for meals. A bar is in the main area for ease of serving drinks. A loft area houses our own professional DJ for your music/audio needs along with professional lighting.
