About Thompson Family Farm

Established in 1845 by the Thompson family, Thompson Farm is a must-see southern gem. Even today the farm is owned and operated by the fourth and fifth generations of Thompsons. In 2011, our beloved farm won South Carolina Farm of the Year, winner of the Small Farm Competition. Rich in history and family, we want to welcome you to our family farm for school trips, fall fun, weddings and, most of all, making memories. While you are here, make sure you stop by our General Store, which was originally Buck & Beaty Mercantile, and is the oldest general store in Horry County. Here you can take home preserves, mums, assorted pumpkins, and more Ever since you were little you have dreamed of your perfect wedding day. We are here to help your dreams come true. With the rustic feel of Bucksville Hall at Thompson Farm you can have that southern, down-home country wedding everyone else is dreaming of. This destination is perfect for your wedding and reception, as well as vow renewals, engagement parties, company events, and other special events. The Peanut Warehouse has a long and reach history in the heart of Horry County, South Carolina. It was built in 1900 to house tobacco. Later, it was used to store fertilizer and finally as a peanut warehouse, hence the name. Located just off the Waccamaw River, in the heart of historic Conway, it played an important role in this river town’s economy around the turn of the century. When you step inside, you get a wonderful glimpse of days gone by.
