HISTORY
This stately late Neoclassical three-story brick structure was built for Thomas G. Owen and wife Pauline. A cotton buyer, Mr. Owen began growing plants on land nearby. This operation would grow to be one of the largest commercial nurseries in the U.S at the time. He tended 200,000 sq ft of plants under glass and many more outside. The house had only three owners before 2003 when it was sold and became a bed and breakfast and venue operation. Surrounded by trees in a park-like setting, the Jackie O House is reminiscent of elegance and gracious living in days gone by.
