Tucked behind the stately Wentworth Mansion is one of Charleston's hidden gems. Circa 1886, named for the year the Wentworth Mansion was built, is home to some of Charleston's finest fare. With a wine list that boasts close to 280 bottles, and contemporary cuisine influenced by Charleston's rich history, this five-star restaurant offers diners an intimate evening that won't soon be forgotten. The menu changes seasonally, keeping abreast of the freshest local produce and seafood. Of course, the service is top-notch, with an enthusiastic, professional wait-staff ready to meet your needs. Dinner is served nightly Monday through Saturday from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Reservations are suggested. Circa 1886 is a smoke-free environment. Seating is limited for all of the events, so reservations are required. Circa 1886 has one of the most beautiful banquet rooms in Charleston. The Tack Room is capable of accommodating parties of up to forty people. Prepared by the exquisite chefs at Circa 1886, your wedding reception, family reunion, or any other special occasion will be an event your guests will talk about for years. There is no other facility in Charleston capable of making your party as memorable as is Circa 1886. We offer two private and intimate dining rooms that will accommodate parties from 10 to 38 people. Banquet menus are available for luncheons as well as rehearsal dinners and receptions. Full service bars as well as extensive wine selections are available. Some restrictions apply. Perfect - An Eventective User from Charleston, S.C.

We had a small, intimate lawn wedding at Circa 1886 last year and it was beautiful and perfect! Everyone who helped us was pleasant and accommodating. Honestly, booking Circa was the easiest part of my wedding planning. A few minutes before the ceremony, some chairs disappeared and before I could even panic, someone from the restaurant took care of it for me. They were fantastic from the day I inquired up to the day of the wedding. The ceremony was picturesque. It was simple and beautiful. We reserved the Tack room for the dinner reception, and it too was everything we wanted. We were limited to 30-38 people, but it was really important to us that we had a certain caliber of food at our reception. We got everything that we wanted, hoped for and more on our special day.
