About The Colonial Theatre
Historic theatre venue in downtown North Canaan, CT — 20 minutes from Great Barrington, MA. Built in 1923 and renovated in the early aughts, the theatre is filled with Art Deco charm. The main theatre features fully movable furniture (including all theatre seats) so the venue can be re-arranged to fit event needs. We have two event spaces — our theatre and ballroom (each with their own attached bathrooms). The theatre has 120-person capacity seated, and 250 standing. The ballroom has 140-person capacity.
