The full White Heat Swing Orchestra is a nationally known hot swing band that is a music landmark for visitors to the Boston area. It has recorded for Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Motion Pictures, backed up Norah Jones, Tony Bennett, Cab Calloway, Lou Rawls in concert, and won Boston Magazine's "Best Dance Band" award. In addition to energetic swing music, WHSO also plays Rhythm and Blues and Motown, Sinatra and salsa. It was the house band at the legendary Roxy in Boston where it performed for near 2 million patrons over a four year run. The White Heat Prohibition Orchestra/Charles River Stompers is the New Orleans style Dixieland and Traditional Jazz arm of the White Heat Swing Orchestra. It is a truly all-star group that consists of the premier practitioners of that idiom on a national level who happen to live in the Boston area. It is featured at Great Gatsby, Speakeasy, 1920s Tradition Jazz events. Leader, Craig Ball, recently toured with the famous Bob Crosby’s Bob Cats.
