August Wedding at the Picnic Ground — An Eventective User from Reno NV

We had our wedding at the Graeagle Picnic Ground in early August, and it was absolutely magical. We loved having the venue for 3 days (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) so we had plenty of time for set-up and takedown. We had our rehearsal dinner at the venue, and on Sunday we hired a food truck to come and serve a farewell brunch for our guests. The venue is a blank slate, and we loved that there were few restrictions and lots of freedom in the vendors we could choose. The fairy lights are beautiful at dusk, and the greenery all around make for fantastic pictures. There is a ton of space to dance, chat, and play yard games. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I was very worried about bugs, but in early August we didn't see a single yellowjacket, mosquito or fly! I definitely recommend waiting until late summer/early Fall, as when we visited the venue in late June, I did get quite a few mosquito bites. The only other drawback was you either have to haul off garbage the night of your wedding or hire a dumpster to be on the venue; we hauled off garbage to our AirBnB. With 100 people, we had 5 - 6 large bags and it was manageable.
