The Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens was established in 1888 as the Druid Hill Conservatory. It has grown from the original Palm House and Orchid Room to include three additional greenhouses, two display pavilions and outdoor gardens offering distinct environments that allow the display of plants from all over the world. The buildings create an appropriate environment for plants from tropical, desert, and Mediterranean environments.
It seats approximately 60 guests in each pavilion (separated by various green houses.) Larger groups might consider hosting a cocktail-style events (rather than seated) or put up a tent on the north lawn to accommodate everyone in a single space. This location is magical in the evening with colored lights illuminating the greenhouse rooms. It also offers a lush feel throughout with plants always in bloom. Fewer decorations are needed here which can be appealing.
