The Retreat at Pointer’s Ridge is 22 acre venue that sits along the Big Sioux River in rural Southeast South Dakota, 10 miles north of the state’s largest city, Sioux Falls. It is being developed as a space for people of all ages to discover and nurture their inner creativity and to explore nature. The Retreat is largely a day use, seasonal facility. We are open May through October. Our Main Hall has a complete kitchen, fully stocked with utensils and dishes. The hall itself is an open 60’ x 40’ room, with tables and chairs that can be arranged to suit your needs or removed completely. In addition to the Main Hall, our campus has a fully outfitted mobile home for overnight and longer-term stays; one furnished rustic cabin … electricity, AC and heat, but no plumbing; bunk house cabin with AC and wood burning stove; and a furnished A-frame with half bath, AC and heat. There is also plenty of space for tenting and a limited ability to accommodate an RV or trailer. Outside, The Retreat has a large open area for outdoor activities; a 16’ x 24’ screened in porch; large open fire pit and several small, moveable firepits; outdoor games and a swing set for the kids. The Retreat is available for a wide range of exhibitions, lectures, concerts, workshops, family gatherings, and other activities.
