Gypsy Reverie
Asheville NC 28804, Asheville, NC
Gypsy Reverie plays the music of a candlelit Paris café: the hot swing of Django Reinhardt, French chansons like La Vie en Rose, bossa nova, Portuguese fado, and the Sinatra and Nat King Cole standards that still fill a dance floor. We're based in Asheville and play weddings, rehearsal dinners, private parties, corporate events, and galas across the Carolinas and Tennessee.
The band changes size with your day. A violin and guitar duo can play your ceremony with no power at all, a trio carries cocktail hour and dinner, and a quartet or quintet with a vocalist takes over when it's time to dance. We stay acoustic so your guests can talk over dinner and still hear the music, and we bring a sound system for larger rooms at no extra charge.
I lead the band on violin, after fifteen years with the Hot Club of Philadelphia, alongside Adam Rose and Albi Podrizki on guitars and Ryan Kijanka on bass. You'll find us at places like The Grey Eagle, Isis Music Hall, Salvage Station, and Battery Park Book Exchange, where we sold out two Evening in Lisbon nights.
Send me your date and a song you love. Arranging a first dance in the gypsy jazz style is one of our favorite things to do, and every quote includes travel, setup, and sound, with no surprise fees.
