The Albany Museum of Art 's facility sustained serious damage from the straight line winds that blew through the city on January 2. We will reopen on September 1st. Thank you for your continued support. The Albany museum of art hosts a variety of events and programming for members and guests to enjoy, including painting classes for adults at our monthly cocktails & acrylics, free admission family days planned in the fall and spring for the community to enjoy, summer camps for children offered six weeks out of the summer, concerts co-sponsored with the Albany symphony orchestra, the annual televised auction let's make a bid, as well as exhibit openings and black-tie events. For those interested in creating their own private or corporate event at the museum, the Jane and Harry Willson auditorium, located on the Albany museum of art’s first floor, is ideally suited for various events, including corporate meetings, wedding receptions, birthday parties, graduations and anniversaries. Events are enhanced with the rental of the museum grounds, the lobby area, or an oak dance floor. The mission of the Albany museum of art is to collect, preserve and exhibit works of art and to conduct educational programming designed for a variety of audiences within our community and region. Believing that art is vital to the human experience, the museum will strive to cultivate and stimulate curiosity and passion for art in its many forms.
