Although this venue is on the more expensive side, you are paying for top notch quality and service. Once you put down a deposit on this venue, all the stress and worries completely disappear because the staff and event planners handle literally everything. Events can take place outside along the reflection pool or inside the glass structure known as the Palm House. During the day, you have views of the gardens and everything is peaceful and serene. There is no way you can't be happy while at this venue. At night the building is lit up inside with sparking lights and you can see the stars through the ceiling, it is absolutely breathtaking. You have to use their in-house caterer-CharlesSallyCharles, but this is not something to worry about. They offer so many different options and everything tastes delicious. This is not bland catering hall food, this is five star restaurant quality. I would recommend The Palm House to anyone looking to host an event to impress whether it be a corporate meeting/gala or a family party. The Palm House is available to suit your every need.

My brother was married in the summer of 2009 at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. We grew up in New York City, but my brother always liked the peacefulness of Brooklyn. His wife loves nature and being outside so the gardens in Brooklyn proved to be a perfect venue for their wedding. The site offers a variety of places to have the ceremony. The Japanese garden is beautiful because there is a pond with fish in it and it is very peaceful. My brother chose the Rose Garden because of the beautiful pink and red flowers that made up the surrounding of the ceremony. It is a small space, which perfectly accommodated my brother's fifty guests, approximately. The gardens allowed for a quaint and stunning ceremony that was enhanced by the trees and plants all around. The photographs from the wedding look like they came out of a movie because the colors are so magnificent and the weather was perfect! (We kept our fingers crossed!) It was also very reasonably priced. Although they offered catering services, but we did not use them so I cannot comment on them. We really enjoyed picking which garden to have the ceremony at since there are quite a few choices and each have a very special component that made our decision difficult. Our family and close friends that attended could not say enough about how beautiful the location was and how they had never seen a more incredible ceremony. If you are interested in having a small and quaint wedding and are excited to embody the beauty of nature, I (and my brother) definitely recommend this venue.
"Brooklyn Botanic Garden Adds Natural Beauty to Every Wedding", An Eventective User from Staten Island, NY
When looking into wedding venues in the New York metro option there were many options. What I felt was lacking however was the ability to have a venue in the city that could really add a touch of beauty and elegance to a wedding in the form of a naturally beautiful environment. After visiting many hotels and restaurants with nothing standing out to me, the second I stepped foot onto the property of Brooklyn Botanic Gardens I knew it was the location I would be saying "I Do". You are able to choose a specific ceremony location that fits your ideal profile- a beautiful, classic rose garden where you are surrounded by thousands of blooms, a Japanese Hill and Water garden featuring breathtaking water falls or the Osborne Garden which provides a couture, high end country club like environment filled with beautiful crab apple trees and dazzling fountains. Because of the nature of the gardens, spring and summer are the most popular seasons for weddings and being in the midst of thousands of species of blooming flowers and botanicals added elegance and a magical feel to my big day. Despite being in the city you feel like you are suddenly transported hundreds of miles away into a lush country-scape. The service and planners are spectacular, willing to work with every need and budget. They will take the bride and groom on a tour and help them with every detail of their wedding, from music to recommending clergy and justice of peace. They even offer on-site photography service for a fraction of the fee it can cost to usually hire a private photographer. I cannot even explain how beautiful the wedding photos come out. The setting compliments every aspect of the wedding. The venue even provides personal security to every wedding to ensure it is in no way interrupted! The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens only allow two weddings per day. You will never feel rushed out of the venue to accommodate the next party and you are allowed all the time you need and full access to the grounds for pictures. Overall the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is the perfect place to have a picturesque wedding in the metro city area without feeling like you are in the city. I highly recommend this venue and can't imagine having had my wedding anywhere else!
"Elegant Evening at Palm House", An Eventective User from Brooklyn, NY
You enter through the lovely Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and as you slowly approach (because you don't run, you meander the garden paths - well I do) the Victorian-replica greenhouses you can't help but catch your breath.
The wedding chapel was filled with light on a grey day and made the ceremony all that more special. The cocktail hour was held in the arboretum, where guests can wander through deserts, tropical forests and primary woodland while munching on fantastic canapes. And the smell of fresh greenery was all around - I couldn't get enough of it.
The main reception hall was like something out of a fairytale, as cheesy as that sounds. I am a sucker for all things romantic in architecture and baby, this was romantic architecture. The evening sky was lit up with hundreds of twinkle lights, the dance floor (though small) was filled with happy dancers. The food was plentiful and actually pretty tasty, not to mention impeccable service. Each table had their own designated server who coordinated special requests and made sure the guests were happy. They even had attendants in the ladies room, something I haven't come across in other wedding venues I've been to.
I am a fan.
