I went there in 2005 for an association's convention and felt there was ample room on the trade show floor and in the auditoriums and rooms for various seminars. The main strip of Miami Beach was nearby with all of its little shops and restaurants, which was nice. I was able to get a lot of business done and when I was done working, it was great to have the nightlife of South Beach at my doorstep. The convention center is close to several boutique hotels and larger ones, such as the Loews property. This means that one could possibly take a long walk to the convention center if they don't mind sweating a little. Also, if you need even more space, the local Loews hotel has space that can be used for a reception or meeting. If you need transportation and did not rent a car from the Miami or Fort Lauderdale airports, there are taxi cabs available that can get you to your specific destination. There are also several other car companies that can take you back to the local airports, too. Parking is at a premium so I would recommend walking or taking a taxi to where you need to go. It beats dealing with parking regulations in a city an attendee does not know too well. However, the additional restaurants and meeting spaces that are close make this a wonderful place to hold a meeting. With the weather and nearby entertainment, I enjoyed the facilities of the Miami Beach Convention Center and would recommend them to a colleague.
